The rate depends on the weight of the vehicle, the Euro class and the time spent in the country.
Vehicles registered outside the UK weighing more than 12 tonnes and travelling on an A road or motorway will have to pay when travelling in the UK from 1 August, according to the Spanish employers’ organisation CETM via the World Transport Organisation (IRU).
The UK suspended this charge in the wake of the coronavirus and now the government has decided to resume it.
The amount to be paid will depend on the weight of the vehicle, the Euro class and the length of time spent in the UK. Non-UK HGVs must pay the charge before entering the UK via this link. It should be noted that UK HGVs pay the tax in a different way.
